Geshe Sherab Palzin biography
Geshe Sherab Palzin was born in 1982 in the Kham region of Tibet. Her father’s name is Lha-dong Namkha and her mother’s name is Be-za Jamchen Gyalmo. She grew up in her uncle’s house, leading a simple nomadic childhood while learning to read, write and recite spiritual texts.
At age 13, she received instruction in ngöndro, ngozhi and phowa from Ragshi Tokden D
In 2000, at age 19, she entered Khyungpo Ri Tse Druk Monastery and received novice vows for women from Drubchen Namkha Gyaltsen Rinpoche. She was given the name Sherab Palzin. Under the guidance of realized master Drubchen Namkha Gyaltsen Rinpoche, she practiced ngöndro, ngozhi and phowa, and completed twice a traditional 49-daydark retreat. At age 21, Sherab Palzin went on a pilgrimage to the holy mountain Kongpo Bonri with her uncle and mother.

In 2005, at age 24, Sherab Palzin made the arduous journey from Tibet to Nepal through the Himalayan region. She reached Nepal and met His Eminence Menri Lopon Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche. She received the novice vows from His Eminence Yongdzin Rinpoche on the full moon day of the 9th Tibetan month (Hor calendar). She was given the name Tenzin Lhamo.

On February 24, 2009, Sherab Palzin received the full 360vows for nuns and the name Sherab Yeshe Palzin from His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin, Lungtok Tenpai NyimaRinpoche, and His Eminence Yongdzin Rinpoche at Triten Norbutse Monastery in Nepal.
In 2010, on the 9th day of the 10th month of the Tibetan Hor calendar, she arrived at Menri Monastery in India and a month later was accepted into the Bön Dialectic School at RednaMenling Nunnery near Menri Monastery.
On March 29, 2013, she passed a full oral recitation examination on the basic text of Bön logic written by Kunkhen Nyima Tenzin (23rd Abbot of Menri Monastery), in front of His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche and Menri Lopon Trinley Nyima Rinpoche at Menri Trizin Rinpoche’s residence.
The 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche said, “You are the first among the nuns to take the oral recitation exam at this residence.” And he gave her the yellow spiritual hat (tse-zha) and praised her highly.
Sherab Palzin received the complete empowerments of the outer cycles of tantra and the empowerments of Ma-we Senghe, Tse-drub, the Oral Transmission of Zhang Zhung from His Holiness 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche.
In 2019, she received several valuable empowerments of outer and inner tantra cycles from His Eminence Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche at Triten Norbutse Monastery.
She received dzogchen teachings from His Holiness the 34th Menri Trizin, Dawa Dhargyal Rinpoche, as well as ngöndro and phowa teachings from His Eminence Menri Lopon Trinley Nyima Rinpoche.
