Stupa for the intention of Tomek

We would like to announce the start of a new project: the construction of a stupa for the intention of Tomek Radek. Tomek was a dedicated practitioner and his passion was to inspire others to spiritual practice. He was the founder of the Drenpa Namkha Foundation and the Chaphur Foundation.
.
Building stupas is a widespread tradition of Tibetan culture and an important form of sacred architecture. The main function of a stupa is to house relics, less commonly the ashes of highly realised beings. The symbolism of the stupa is extremely elaborate, but in the simplest terms, the stupa represents all the Bon teachings in visible form, and looking at it and circumambulation of it facilitates the attainment of enlightenment.
.
It is also a common custom in Tibetan culture to build a post-mortem stupa, and this custom is cultivated by lay people and monks alike. The process of creating such a stupa requires the involvement of a lama proficient in astrology and detailed calculations, the gathering of appropriate objects and substances, and finally the performance of a specific ritual. It is an excellent opportunity for practice and the accumulation of merit, not only for those associated with the deceased, but for the entire local community or connected by ties of practice and participation in common religious ceremonies.
.
The purpose of building such a stupa on an individual level is to purify karma, bad energies and to create a basis for the appearance of positive circumstances and accumulation of merit. This applies to the deceased person as well as to those involved in this project materially and spiritually.
An important aspect of the stupa’s symbolism is also its impact in the space in which it is located, its influence on the landscape and the beings, visible and invisible, that inhabit it. The stupa for Tomek’s intention will be built in Bialystok, which should be considered a very positive energetic circumstance for the city and the area.
.
The stupa will be small in size, which does not diminish its significance and impact. It will be 40 cm high. It will be filled in the traditional way with appropriate objects and consecrated. The entire process will take place according to the instructions and under the supervision of Chaphur Rinpoche. The culmination will be a visit by Chapura Rinpoche to Bialystok in March this year for the proper completion of the project and the consecration of the stupa.
.
Those who would like to join the initiative are asked to make donations to the foundation’s account with the note “donation – stupa for the intention of Tomek”
